Setting Up

1. Connecting the monitor to your computer.

The monitor has two cables: Monitor Interface Cable and Power Cable. The monitor Interface Cable is a plug with pins in it; the pins correspond to holes in the video port on the computer. The connector will fit into the port only one way, so you do not need to worry about whether you have it aligned correctly. Please secure the connection by tightening the screws on either side of the connector. Please wait until the end of the setup process to plug in your power code to the wall outlet or a surge protector.

2. Connect the keyboard and the mouse.

The keyboard has only one cable, which is permanently attached to the keyboard. Please connect the round male connector to the female counterpart located on the back of your computer. Your mouse is a serial device and it has a 9-pin female connector for attachment to a serial port.

3. Connect the speakers.

Speakers should be connected to the sound card ports located at the back of your computer. The speakers should not be plugged into seperate right and left outlets. Connect the speaker that does not have volume control into the jack of the second speaker. Plug the second speaker to the sound card port which is labeled as Audio Out.

4. Connect the phone line and phone to fax/modem.

Connect the line from the wall phone jack on the modem marked as Line at the back of your computer. Plug your telephone into the other jack marked as telephone. A telephone is optional and it will not affect the performance of your internal fax/modem.

5. Connect the power cords

Power cords are three-prong cords you attach to your computer. Please check the voltage switch on the power supply at the back of the computer and make sure it is set to the appropriate voltage. Attach power cords of the computer and the monitor to the wall outlet or a surge protector.

6. Turn on the computer and the monitor.

There are three switches on your computer: Power, Turbo, and Reset. Turn on the power switches of your computer and monitor and you are ready to start. Turn on your turbo switch if you wish to operate your computer at it's maximum speed. Reset switch is for rebooting your system.
